It sat.
And sat.
Then I finally just got fed up with not figuring out what to do with it and stenciled the word "love" on it. I took a little, tiny paint brush and yellow acrylic paint and went over it several times. And there ya go, a pallet wall art sign. I know there are a million things to do with pallets and I chose the simplest thing. But I like the simplicity of it. And guess what? We have another pallet! Before I know it my house might be covered in these things!
Here's a picture of the finished product:
Here's the how to: (I didn't take any pictures of the process)
1. Find a pallet. Any pallet. If it is worn and uneven, that's okay! I like that look.
2. Take it apart. Do this carefully. A few of our boards split. The wood isn't great, especially if you let it sit outside for months... My husband propped a flat-head screwdriver under each nail and hammered the handle of the screwdriver. This worked pretty well. I am sure there are a lot of ways to do it.
3. After all of your boards are apart, arrange them how you want them because now you have to nail those suckers back together!
4. We took two pieces of the wood we weren't using and laid them on the back. This is how we nailed ours together.
5. Now that it is all put together, get on pinterest and figure out what to do with it! The possibilities are endless!! Stain works wonderfully!
6. Hang it up using wire or whatever other sturdy thing you can find. It will be heavy so make sure it is secure to the stud!
7. Sit back and enjoy looking at your new pallet wall art:)
